Emerging Technologies for Processing Sulfide Mineral Concentrates: A Low-Cost and High-Recovery Leach Method
Over the next month, Samuel Engineering, Inc. (SE) will be inviting mining professionals from around the world to join us at our Denver headquarters for round table discussions focused on emerging technologies in metal extraction applications. One of our keys to success at SE is the effective implementation of technology and one of the ways we do that is to continually educate our team and clients on the latest in industry technology and innovations. We strive to lead the way in the use of technology in order to achieve superior solutions to the world’s most challenging problems.
Our focus over the next month will revolve largely around a new breakthrough process from Metalox Technologies. Metalox has developed a process to which most metals from complex sulfide mineral concentrates can be extracted with lower operating cost, faster reaction time, and the highest recovery with minimized negative environmental impact. The Metalox Process solves many of the problems associated with other hydrometallurgical methods for producing copper, zinc, precious metals and lead from complex sulfides. The process can also produce commercially viable by-products in some applications which lead to reduced waste, lower overall production costs and improved sustainability. SE has been involved with Metalox over the past 2 years by providing recommendations on implementation requirements, capital costs and potential applications.
