Belfield Frac II Train

Samuel Services
Samuel Engineering provided complete civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation & controls engineering for the new Fractionation II process equipment, including design of the heat medium and storage area. The team developed medium-voltage overhead power distribution from the adjacent substation into two new power distribution centers within the plant, and delivered all associated construction specifications and equipment integration support.
Project Description
The project involved installing a 15,000 BPD deC3/deC4 fractionator train and associated storage vessels at an existing gas plant to operate in parallel with an existing 6,000 BPD train and effectively double processing capacity; Samuel Engineering carried out detailed piping and mechanical engineering—covering piping design, 3D modeling, isometric drawings, plot plans, and equipment modeling—while also executing civil and structural scopes such as geotechnical specifications, site grading and drainage design, stormwater system engineering, permitting reports and calculations, building and foundation design, pipe rack design, and construction specifications, and delivered comprehensive electrical and instrumentation engineering including one-line diagrams, panel and circuit schedules, MCC schematics, area classification drawings, electrical design criteria, equipment specifications, instrumentation datasheets, control system and network design, vendor skid integration, and ESD system support.
