Highpoint Church A+E Design

Samuel Services

Samuel provided comprehensive economic and aesthetic value-engineering of all building systems, spatial uses, and finish materials, ultimately shepherding the project through re-design, city approvals, and construction administration. The value-engineering services provided by Samuel estimated to have saved over $2 million in construction costs.

Project Description

A key fixture of the Aurora Southlands development, Highpoint Church serves as a spiritual and cultural nexus for the community. The facility sits on a 10-acre site which was developed by the church, and the ground-up construction creates space for regular church functions, childcare, and large-scale special events.

As re-designed, the facility exhibits an aesthetic of exposed materials, including concrete floors, steel roof members, and tilt-up wall panels. The result is a space which pays visual homage not only to the construction process, but the church’s journey through the challenging economic climate. The building has become a place that is both comfortable for visitors and flexible for a wide-array of event types and uses.
