Samuel served as the Owner’s Engineer and Construction Manager for the Lamar Repowering Project, stepping in to resolve design and coordination issues. Their scope included comprehensive project management, engineering design support, construction oversight, and commissioning services to ensure successful integration and operation of the upgraded coal-fired power generation system.
Project Description
The Lamar Repowering Project in Lamar, Colorado involved upgrading an existing natural gas-powered plant by integrating a new circulating fluidized bed coal-fired boiler and an 18.5 MW steam turbine generator. This brought the total generation capacity to 43.5 MW. The project also included major infrastructure upgrades and system integrations to support the new configuration.
